Final HTx General Assembly & Expert Forum – 23 – 24 May – Sitges, Spain

The final HTx General Assembly and Expert Forum took place between the 23rd & 24th of May in Sitges, Spain. The two-day meeting of consortium members and external HTA experts included presentations looking back at the project’s achievements and the impact it will have on future Health Technology Assessment research, as well as breakout sessions and panel discussions about innovation in HTA.

The first day of the two-day event started with the General Assembly, which was opened by the project coordinator, Wim Goettsch (University of Utrecht, The Netherlands), followed by a presentation from our project manager Nathalie Bofarull on the final tasks and deliverables due as the project comes to the close. This was followed by a series of presentations facilitated by Syreon Research Institute on the upcoming HTx presentations at HTA conferences, as well as presentations on the key lessons learned and the future of the project.

The afternoon saw the opening of the final Expert Forum, where on the first day discussions included exploring the main methodological and policy findings of the HTx project, as well as how innovators, experts and policymakers could utilise project results to fuel future research and innovation in the field of Health Technology Assessment. The second day of the forum focused on the generalisability and transferability of HTx Project results, as well as a reflection on how research could have been conducted in a better way and how these reflections could be implemented in future HTA research.

We would like to thank all our colleagues and experts who participated and presented at the event, and our project manager Nathalie Bofarull and the team at Synapse for organising and managing the event.
